Protecting Gerrards Cross. Defending Our Green Belt.
Gerrards Cross Conservation Group works to safeguard local green spaces, challenge harmful development, and uphold the character of our town.
A community‑led, not‑for‑profit organisation based in Gerrards Cross.
What We Do
We focus on three core areas of work to protect Gerrards Cross and its surroundings.
Green Belt Protection
Planning & Legal Action
Community Engagement
We defend the Green Belt around Gerrards Cross from inappropriate development. We monitor planning applications, respond to consultations, and ensure that national and local planning policies are properly applied.
We coordinate expert planning advice, community objections, and—where necessary—legal challenges, including Judicial Review. Our aim is to make sure decisions are lawful, evidence‑based, and open to public scrutiny.
We keep residents informed, organise meetings and events, and help people understand how to engage with the planning system. Together, we can speak with a stronger, more effective voice.
Current campaigns
These are the key issues we are currently focusing on.
Bull Lane Development
M40 SDC Data Centre
Conservation Areas
A major proposal affecting Green Belt land and the character of Gerrards Cross. We are coordinating detailed objections and exploring all available planning and legal routes.
A large‑scale data centre proposal with significant landscape, traffic, and environmental impacts. We are analysing the plans, gathering expert input, and informing residents.
Conservation Areas help protect the special character of parts of Gerrards Cross. We explain what they are, why they matter, and how they can be strengthened.
Why this matters
Gerrards Cross is defined by its green spaces, woodland, and distinctive character. Once these are lost, they are rarely, if ever, restored.
We believe development should be appropriate, sustainable, and lawful. That means respecting the Green Belt, protecting important landscapes, and ensuring that local people are properly heard.
By working together, we can influence decisions, challenge poor proposals, and protect the place we call home.
